Welcome¶
I am an evolutionary biologist, working as a post-doctoral researcher in Dr. Andrés Lopez-Sepulcre’s group at the University of Jyväskylä since March 2017.
I develop new statistical approaches to study nutrient cycling in Trinidadian streams.
Previous research positions¶
- 2015-2017: post-doc in Dr. Tarmo Ketola’s group (University of Jyväskylä, Finland) where I studied adaptation to fluctuating environments in bacteria.
- 2011-2014: post-doc in Prof. Craig Primmer’s group (University of Turku, Finland) and collaboration with Dr. Anti Vasemägi and Dr. Spiros Papakostas to study thermal adaptation and parasite resistance in wild fish
- 2005-2010: Ph.D and short post-doc at the marine research station of Roscoff, in Brittany (France) studying molecular adaptations of marine invertebrates to extreme environments
Research interests in brief¶
- Molecular evolution
- Thermal adaptation in aquatic metazoans and in microbes
- Ecosystem biology
